of blood clots and will help to lower blood pressure.
Garlic should be used daily for these benefits to be present and can
be consumed in raw, cooked, or supplemental form. Because body odor
may results from regular use of garlic, specially formulated supplements
are available that will not produce this side effect. HAWTHORNE
Hawthorne has been used with heart ailments since the 17th century
and is one of the best herbs for heart disease. Hawthorne increases
blood flow to the heart and strengthens the pumping action of the
heart muscle. It works against arrhythmia and makes the heart more
immune to instances of oxygen deficiency during times of stress or
excitement.
For those with a family history of cardiovascular problems, this herb
is a good preventative supplement. Taken as a tincture or tablet,
hawthorne can be used daily and long term with no side effects or
drug interactions. MOTHERWORT
Another of the best herbs for the heart, motherwort works to calm
the nervous system and has a mild sedative effect. It will help still
heart palpitations, address mild irregularities, lower blood pressure,
and strengthen the heart muscle.
Motherwort is taken as a tonic or infusion, usually two teaspoons
per cup of water, morning and evening. It may take several months
for the benefits of motherwort to become apparent.
